1. The service

comment.page lets anyone open a comment page for any URL on the web and discuss it in real time. No account is needed. The service is provided free of charge and as is, with no guarantee of availability, uptime, or data preservation.

By creating a comment page, posting a message, or embedding the widget, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. A reminder of this sits next to the create button and next to the message box: taking either action is your acceptance, every time you take it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Acceptable use

Do not use comment.page to post or promote:

• illegal content, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
• harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeting of private individuals;
• sexual content involving minors, or any depiction of abuse;
• spam, scams, phishing, malware, or automated flooding;
• personal data about other people (doxxing).

Do not attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, bypass rate limits, or scrape it at scale.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute that content as part of the service — including in public listings and in the embeddable widget.

You are responsible for what you post. Comments are public: anyone with the link can read them, and search engines may index them. Messages cannot be edited or deleted once sent — ask us if something needs to come down.

Comment pages expire. A comment page is public for about five days from its creation. After that the discussion is no longer reachable at that link, and visiting the same URL starts a new, empty comment page. A page expiring is not a deletion of what was posted on it — ask us if something needs to come down. Nothing here is a backup: do not rely on a comment page to keep anything you need.

We are not responsible for what users do here. comment.page is a neutral place to host conversations; it does not create, check, endorse, or verify what people post, and it does not monitor comment pages in advance. Everything posted is the sole responsibility of the person who posted it, and any consequence of posting it — legal, financial, or otherwise — rests with them, not with us. If someone's post causes a claim against us, they are responsible for it.

4. Third-party pages

A comment page refers to a URL that we do not own or control. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the sites being discussed. Titles, descriptions, images, and previews belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification and context only.

We do not republish those sites. A comment page links to the original and shows only a short title, description, preview image, and screenshot so that readers can tell which page is being discussed — the equivalent of the preview any messaging app or search engine shows. Names and logos are used only to identify the page, never to suggest a connection that does not exist. Everything else on a comment page is written by our users.

5. If you own a site we link to

Comments about your site are the opinions of the people who wrote them. They are not ours, we did not solicit or approve them, and they do not represent us. We do not read comment pages before they appear.

Any claim about what a user said belongs to that user, not to us or to the people who operate this service. If something posted about you or your site is unlawful, tell us and we will act on it — but we do not accept liability for content we had no knowledge of before you told us. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither this service nor its operators, owners, employees, or contractors accept liability to you for a comment page existing, for what users wrote on it, for traffic it sends or does not send you, or for how your page was displayed.

You agree not to pursue the individuals who run this service personally for anything covered by these terms. If you bring a claim in connection with a comment page and it is based on content a user posted, you are responsible for our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

To get something removed, use the contact form with the exact URL and say what the problem is — a rights claim, unlawful content, or a request to take the page down. We remove pages on valid requests. This is the fastest route, and the only one we monitor.

6. Moderation and removal

We may remove any comment or comment page, and block any user or IP address, at our discretion and without notice — in particular when content breaks section 2 or when we receive a valid legal or abuse report. Comment pages carry an abuse-report button; we review reports but do not promise a response time.

7. The widget

The embeddable widget may be used on sites you own or control. We may change or discontinue it, and we may block requests from a domain that abuses it. You must not modify the widget so that it misrepresents comment counts or activity.

8. No warranty and liability

The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be preserved or backed up. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost data, or lost profits arising from your use of the service.

Content posted by users is not ours and does not represent our views — see section 3. We are not liable for anything you or anyone else posts, for anything that happens on a page someone else created, or for the content of the third-party sites being discussed.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the current version; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. Significant changes may also be announced on the site.
