Privacy Policy

In short

No accounts, no advertising trackers, no selling of data. Visits are counted without cookies; the cookie-based analytics are optional and off until you accept them. We keep the minimum needed to run the service and to stop abuse. Everything you post is public.

What we store

• Comments and comment pages — the message text, the URL being discussed, and timestamps. A comment page is public for about five days from its creation; after that it is no longer reachable, and what was posted on it is kept unless removed by us or by a valid request.
• Page snapshots — the title, description, preview image, and screenshot of the URL being discussed, fetched by our renderer so the comment page has context.
• A session cookie (SESSION) — a random identifier that keeps your browser tied to its comment pages. It carries no personal data and is required for the site to work.
• Your display name — the name shown next to your messages. It is generated for you automatically; if you set a nickname instead, we store the text you typed alongside your session for as long as that session lasts.
• Abuse reports — the type of problem, any details you type, the page reported, and the session that reported it. Kept after the report is resolved so we can spot repeat problems.
• Technical logs — IP address, user agent, requested path, and timestamp. Used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging, and kept only for a short period.
• Theme preference — stored in your browser's local storage, never sent to us.

We do not ask for your identity in order to read or post — no account, no email address — and we do not run advertising trackers or sell data to anyone.

Cookies and analytics

Two kinds of cookies are used here.

• Essential — the SESSION cookie described above, plus the record of your cookie choice. These are always set; the site cannot work without them.
• Analytics cookies — optional, off by default. We use a third-party analytics service to understand how the site is used: which pages get created, whether creation succeeded, failed, or was cancelled, and how long it took. Nothing is sent to it until you accept analytics in the cookie banner, and you can decline without losing any functionality.

The cookie-based analytics above run on the home page and on comment pages; the cookie banner appears on both, and your choice applies across the site. The provider processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie icon in the corner of the page.

Cookieless visit counting. Separately, every page here runs a privacy-friendly analytics tool that counts visits without cookies and without any identifier for you: it records the page visited, the referring site, and rough country, device and browser type, and nothing that could single you out. Because it stores nothing on your device and holds no personal data, it runs for every visitor and is not part of the cookie choice above.

Comments are public

Anyone with the link can read a comment page, comment pages may appear in public listings, and search engines may index them. Do not post anything you would not want published — including personal data about yourself or others.

Third parties

• hCaptcha — bot protection when a comment page is created and on the partner registration form. It sets its own cookies and processes your IP under its own privacy policy.
• An analytics provider — usage analytics, only if you accept them. See "Cookies and analytics" above.
• A cookieless analytics tool — visit counts on every page, with no cookies and no personal data.
• A form delivery service — delivers messages sent through the contact form to us by email.
• An error monitoring service — receives technical crash details, which may include an IP address.
• Hosting and CDN providers — process traffic on our behalf to serve the site.

The pages you discuss are third-party sites. Visiting them from here is subject to their own privacy policies, not ours.

Forms you fill in

If you submit the partner registration form or the contact form, we receive what you typed — including the email address you provide — and use it only to reply and to manage that request.

Retention

A comment page lives for about five days from the moment it is created. After that it stops being reachable: the link no longer shows that discussion, it disappears from listings and search, and visiting the same URL starts a new, empty comment page instead. A page closing is not a deletion: what was posted on it is kept for as long as the service runs, unless removed by us or by a valid request. Technical logs and rate-limiting records are short-lived. Your session cookie expires about half a day after it is issued, and the display name stored with it is dropped after roughly a day of inactivity — which is why a nickname you set may be gone when you come back.

Your choices

• Ask us to delete a comment or a whole comment page — use the contact form with the exact link, or the report button on the page itself.
• Accept or refuse analytics cookies, and change your mind later, using the cookie icon in the corner of the page.
• Clear the SESSION cookie and local storage in your browser at any time. The site will simply start you fresh.

Because we hold no identity data, we usually cannot connect a request to "your" past comments other than by the link you give us.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top reflects the current version.
